Konami’s iconic survival horror series is gearing up to return with Silent Hill 2. The company, which recently released the free Silent Hill: The Short Message and received positive feedback from players, aims to make an even bigger splash with the remake.
Will Silent Hill 2 Remake be released this year?
The remake version of Silent Hill 2 has been rated as suitable for ages 16 and older due to expressions of horror such as extreme violence, hitting and being hit resulting in excessive blood, and terrifying backgrounds and strange sounds. This classification indicates that Silent Hill’s long-standing gloomy world will continue.
While the age rating is an important detail, it does not confirm the release date of the game. It’s important to note that Silent Hill: The Short Message received this rating last year.
Games typically do not go through the age rating process until the later stages of development or when they are almost ready. This suggests that the Silent Hill 2 Remake is in its final stages before release.
The remake version is being developed by Bloober Team, the developer of Layers of Fear and The Medium. It was announced for PlayStation 5 and PC last year and is planned to be released in 2024. PlayStation had previously indicated that it would be released alongside Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake.
